Welcome Back!
It seems as though it's been ages since I've seen you guys! We had a few cold weather days before finals, then we were writing finals, and this week you've had the past two days off! So, it has been a while! Welcome back everyone!
The courses I will be teaching this semester are:
ELA 10B (Current Global Issues)- I really enjoy teaching this course as we get to examine important world events as they pertain to the themes of equity,ethics, rights and responsibilities and sustainability.
ELA 30B- Global Literature- We are starting this course with the study of a classic American play of pioty, hysteria and injustice- "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller.
History 10- A survey of significant historical events that have shaped our society. We will begin with a look at the 'unconscious' social structures that help ensure societies run smoothly. We will then carry this knowledge forward to analyze how these structures influenced the Iroquois Confederacy, and then the conditions that led to the French Revolution.
History 30- A survey of Canadian History from ancient times to the modern era. I am looking forward to this course as I focussed my university studies in the areas of pre and post Confederation Canadian History, Native Studies, and Canadian and American Political Science.
PAA 8 and 9
We will be continuing on with food studies in grade 9.
In grade 8 we will be learning about fibers and textiles and will have many opportunities to practice these skills during hands on applications.
